This was a customer return item. The outer packaging had been opened but the product appeared to be in pristine condition and unused. This badminton net was previously offered for sale new with an RRP of £39.99.

Total Cost Of Purchase = £1.95 + £0.39 + £1.20 = £3.54

Conclusion
Profit From Sale = £25.01 – £3.54 – £4.29 + £5.21 – £5.21 = £17.18
Profit percentage = 100 x (17.18/3.34) = 514%

Not a bad profit percentage achieved but more importantly pounds rather than pence were earned on this transaction. The buyer saved approximately £15 off of RRP so I’m pleased that they secured themselves a bargain as well. You will notice though that I messed up on the delivery charge (again!) offered on Ebay, only charging it on at cost. Ebay fees are based on the total order value including VAT so I should really have charged another £0.60 to cover that. As said elesewhere, learn from my mistakes and maximise your profits – absolutely vital on low value sales!
