This hospital fire action notice reads:
IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE
Operate the fire alarm by breaking the glass.
Remove patients from immediate danger.
Close the door.
Attack the fire with the appropriate equipment.
IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM
Close all doors and windows.
If you can be released, go to your assembly point. and await instructions from the nurse in charge.
The person delegated by the nurse in charge will telephone the Fire Brigade by lifting the handset of the red telephone and when the Fire Brigade answers say:
“Fire at”: _____(complete with location)
NOTE: Know the location of:
Your break glass alarm points.
Your fire appliances.
Your alternative escape route.
Your fire indicator panels.
The red fire telephone.
